Field sobriety exercises are commonly used in Florida DUI stops. How you perform — or whether you refuse — can become evidence in the criminal case and can affect the officer’s decision to arrest.
These exercises are not the same as the implied-consent chemical test after arrest, which has its own license consequences. Read our implied-consent article and the DUI practice page for the 10-day administrative clock.
